Are Banks Closed Today ? CHECK

Banks across most parts of India will remain closed on Tuesday, April 14, as the country observes multiple regional and national festivals, including Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti, Maha Vishuva Sankranti, Biju and Buisu festivals, Tamil Nadu’s New Year, Bohag Bihu, and Baisakhi.

While banking services will be unavailable in the majority of states on this day, branches in Nagaland, Chhattisgarh, and Meghalaya will continue to operate normally.

Customers are advised to plan their financial transactions accordingly, as the holiday will affect cash withdrawals, fund transfers, cheque clearances, and other routine banking activities in most regions.

Looking ahead, several more bank holidays are scheduled in the coming days:

  • On April 15, banks will remain closed in Tripura, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Kerala, West Bengal, and Himachal Pradesh on account of Bengali New Year’s Day, Bohag Bihu, Vishu, and Himachal Day.
  • April 16 will see banks shut in Assam for Bohag Bihu (also referred to as Bohag Bisu).
  • Karnataka has declared a holiday on April 20 for Basava Jayanti and Akshaya Tritiya.
  • On April 21, banks in Tripura will be closed for Garia Puja.

In addition to these festival-related closures, banks throughout the country follow the standard practice of remaining shut on all Sundays and on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month.
