Veteran playback singer Asha Bhosle, aged 92, was admitted to Mumbai’s upscale Breach Candy Hospital on Saturday, according to sources. The icon behind unforgettable tracks such as Piya Tu Ab To Aaja, Jaiye Aap Kahan Jayenge, Rangeela Re, and Sharara Sharara is reportedly receiving treatment for extreme exhaustion and a chest infection. She is set to celebrate her 93rd birthday on September 8, 2026.
Her granddaughter, singer Zanai Bhosle, addressed the situation publicly on her X account, confirming the admission while appealing for privacy. “My grandmother, Asha Bhosle due to extreme exhaustion and suffering a chest infection has been admitted to hospital and we request you to value our privacy. Treatment is ongoing and hopefully everything will be well and we shall update you positively,” Zanai wrote.
Breach Candy Hospital, a premium private facility in South Mumbai known for its advanced care, often involves substantial expenses for extended treatment, monitoring, and specialist services—raising questions about the financial implications for even celebrated artists facing health setbacks at an advanced age.
