Infiltrators Will Be Driven Out : PM Modi Lists 6 Guarantees For Bengal In Haldia Rally

Kolkata : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday gave six guarantees to the people of West Bengal as he took on the Trinamool Congress over economic mismanagement. Speaking at a rally in Haldia, which goes to polls on April 23, PM Modi promised to establish the rule of law, bring transparency in governance, investigate every case of corruption, throw out infiltrators and implement the 7th Pay Commission if voted to power in West Bengal.

PM Modi took on the Trinamool Congress for neglecting West Bengal’s economic growth, alleging that the state has gone down on every development parameter in the last 15 years. Haldia was once one of the major industrial centers of modern India, but in recent decades, factories here have been shuttered. PM Modi spoke about fish production in the state, claiming that it has fallen drastically under the Mamata Banerjee government. His focus on fisheries coincides with the TMC’s allegations that the BJP will ban meat and fish if it is voted to power.

He told the gathering that Trinamool did not implement the policy since its name had “PM” in it, adding that the party hates him. “They either do not implement a policy with ‘PM’ in it, or they change the name,” he alleged. Charging the TMC of running a corrupt syndicate in the state, PM Modi told the gathering that the BJP will provide a clean and transparent government. “Under the TMC government, nothing moves without cut money and commissions. But the BJP does not tolerate corruption or nepotism, he said.

Targeting the Mamata Banerjee government over rising rape cases across the state, the prime minister promised to repair the law and order situation once the BJP comes to power. “The daughters of Bengal are unsafe while studying medicine and law,” he said. PM Modi said that rape victims will get justice once the saffron party comes to power. “Under the TMC, there is fear. Under the BJP, there will be rule of law,” he said.
