New Delhi: Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha has strongly refuted allegations levelled against him by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), days after being removed from his position as the party’s deputy leader in the Upper House. In a video statement shared on social media platform X, Chadha dismissed the accusations as unfounded and said he was compelled to respond before they gained traction, according to India Today.
Chadha addressed three key allegations made against him, asserting that there was “zero truth” in the claims. He maintained that the charges were misleading and aimed at tarnishing his credibility. The MP emphasised that he chose to break his silence to prevent the spread of misinformation.
Concluding his remarks with a dramatic reference, Chadha quoted a line from the Bollywood film Dhurandhar, saying, “I am wounded, therefore I am dangerous,” underscoring his resolve amid the controversy.
The development comes shortly after AAP removed Chadha from the deputy leader’s post in the Rajya Sabha, replacing him with party MP Ashok Mittal. The decision was communicated to the Rajya Sabha Secretariat, marking a significant shift in the party’s parliamentary leadership structure.
Chadha’s response signals escalating tensions within the party, as he firmly denied wrongdoing and challenged the narrative presented against him. While AAP has not publicly elaborated in detail on the allegations, Chadha’s rebuttal highlights a growing internal discord.
According to India Today, Chadha reiterated that the accusations lacked factual basis and insisted that his record in Parliament reflects his commitment to raising public issues. His statement indicates that he intends to defend his position and counter what he described as false claims.
