Who Is Reet Padda ? Aneet Padda’s Sister, Getting Trolled

Reet Padda, the sister of rising Bollywood actress Aneet Padda, has suddenly found herself at the centre of a fierce social media controversy following her outspoken criticism of the recently released film Dhurandhar 2.

Unlike her sister, who has stepped into the spotlight with projects like Saiyaara, Reet maintains a low profile and works as a customer success manager based in Paris. According to her professional profile, she specialises in marketing, with expertise in campaign strategy, market research, and client relations.

The storm erupted after Reet responded to a social media comment about Dhurandhar: The Revenge, the Ranveer Singh-starrer directed by Aditya Dhar. In her remarks, she labelled the film—along with The Kashmir Files and The Kerala Story—as “propaganda.” She specifically described Dhurandhar as promoting a “government-friendly narrative” that uses political speeches to frame events such as demonetisation. “Is it propaganda? Yes. Can I deny it? No,” she stated in the now widely circulated comment.

Reet went further, criticising actress Priyanka Chopra for remaining silent during a moment at the 2026 Oscars. She referenced the instance when Priyanka stood beside co-presenter Javier Bardem, who openly shouted “Free Palestine,” while Priyanka smiled without joining in. Reet remarked that if her own sister were in a similar position, she would expect her to speak up, and would be the first to call her out if she did not.

Her comments quickly went viral, triggering a wave of intense online criticism and trolling. At the time of her post, Reet had approximately 6,700 followers. In response to the backlash, she made her social media accounts private. Reports indicate that most of her online profiles, including Instagram and reportedly LinkedIn, are no longer publicly accessible.

The episode has also drawn indirect attention to Aneet Padda, with some netizens extending criticism to the actress over her sister’s views. As of now, Reet Padda has not issued any public statement addressing the controversy.

This incident highlights how personal opinions expressed on social media can rapidly escalate into public debates, especially when they involve high-profile films and personalities in the entertainment industry. Reet’s remarks have sparked discussions around the nature of cinematic content, political narratives in cinema, and the expectations placed on public figures regarding global issues.
