Massive ‘No Kings’ Protests Sweep US And Beyond In Show Of Opposition To Trump

Washington: Thousands of demonstrators gathered across the United States and several countries in a sweeping wave of protests under the banner of the “No Kings” movement, signalling widespread opposition to US President Donald Trump. According to reports by Hindustan Times and international news agencies, the rallies marked one of the largest coordinated protest actions in recent times, with participation spanning major urban centres as well as smaller towns.

Organisers indicated that more than 3,000 events were held nationwide, drawing millions of participants. The demonstrations were not confined to the US alone, with solidarity protests reported in parts of Europe and other regions. The scale and reach of the movement underscore growing global attention to political developments in the United States.

Participants voiced concerns over a range of issues, including immigration policies, the ongoing conflict involving Iran, and what many described as an increasingly authoritarian style of governance. Protesters carried placards and chanted slogans emphasising democratic values, while speakers at several events called for safeguarding institutional integrity and civil liberties.

The rallies, part of a broader grassroots mobilisation, represent the third major wave of “No Kings” protests in less than a year. Previous demonstrations had already drawn millions, reflecting sustained public engagement and dissatisfaction among sections of the population.

While the protests were largely peaceful, authorities in some cities reported isolated incidents of tension and clashes. Despite political divisions, organisers maintained that the demonstrations were aimed at reinforcing democratic principles and encouraging civic participation.

The turnout, cutting across regions and demographics, highlights the deep political polarisation within the United States. As the movement gains momentum, analysts suggest it could influence the broader political discourse in the run-up to future electoral contests.
