‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ Day 1 Box Office: Ranveer Singh’s Action Blockbuster Opens at Rs 145.55 Crore Net Domestically

Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar: The Revenge had one of the biggest openings in recent Hindi cinema. The Aditya Dhar directorial crossed Rs 145 crore net at the domestic box office within its first day previews included and the numbers make the case better than any amount of pre-release hype ever could.

Premiere Shows and Day 1 Breakdown

The film’s makers held special paid preview shows on March 18, 2026, the night before the official release. Several shows were delayed or canceled across India owing to technical snags, but that still didn’t stop Dhurandhar: The Revenge from collecting Rs 43 crore from the premieres alone, per trade tracking platform Sacnilk.

On Friday, March 19 the first official day the film added Rs 102.55 crore net in India, a 59.5% jump over the preview numbers. That brings the cumulative domestic total to Rs 145.55 crore net, or Rs 172.63 crore gross.

Language-Wise Collection

Hindi led the charge by a wide margin: Rs 99.10 crore from 19,500 shows. Telugu came second with Rs 2.12 crore across 1,112 shows, followed by Tamil at Rs 1.16 crore from 958 shows. Malayalam added Rs 0.09 crore (96 shows) and Kannada Rs 0.08 crore (62 shows).

What the Film Is About

Dhurandhar: The Revenge picks up after the death of Rehman Dakait. The story follows Hamza Ali Mazari formerly Jaskirat Singh Rangi, an Indian undercover operative as he rises through Pakistan’s criminal and political networks. Along the way, he faces betrayal, fractured loyalties, shifting alliances, and a political trap that puts both his mission and his identity at risk.

The film stars Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan, Rakesh Bedi, Sara Arjun, Danish Pandor, Gaurav Gera, and Saumya Tandon. It released in theatres on March 19, 2026.
