Ajit Pawar Funeral: Thousands Converge as Baramati Bids Adieu To Their ‘Dada’

Baramati : The state of Maharashtra is observing a period of profound mourning as the final rites for Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar are conducted in his home turf of Baramati. 

Ajit Pawar’s mortal remains will be held at his Katewadi home in Baramati till nine in the morning on Thursday, according to the schedule provided by the local authorities, so that close relatives and locals can pay their condolences. After that, the mortal remains will be transported to the GDM Auditorium, where a greater crowd of party employees, sympathizers, and members of the public is anticipated to congregate.

The funeral procession is expected to start from the auditorium and move in the direction of the Vidya Pratishthan grounds. Several dignitaries, including Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and senior leaders from various political parties, are expected to attend the final journey, which will take place there at 11 a.m. with full state honors.

A contingent of the Maharashtra Police will provide a ceremonial guard of honor and a 21-gun salute, recognizing Pawar’s decades of service in the state cabinet. State authorities have coordinated with the Baramati municipal administration to ensure that the logistical requirements for the thousands of attendees are met, including the setup of large screens for public viewing of the ceremony. The event marks the end of a significant era in Maharashtra politics, as the state grapples with the sudden loss of one of its most influential administrative and political stalwarts.
