Hrithik Roshan to Direct Krrish 4 in Bold Franchise Leap

Hrithik Roshan will make his directorial debut with Krrish 4, the next installment of India’s iconic superhero franchise, as confirmed by Hindustan Times. The actor will also star as the titular hero, with his father, Rakesh Roshan, and Aditya Chopra of Yash Raj Films co-producing. Rakesh, who launched Hrithik’s career 25 years ago with Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai , announced the news on Instagram, expressing pride in his son’s new role. “Duggu, today you are being launched as a director by Aditya Chopra & myself for #Krrish4,” he wrote.

Speaking to Variety, Rakesh highlighted Hrithik’s lifelong connection to the series, which began with Koi Mil Gaya in 2003, and praised Chopra for encouraging Hrithik to direct. The film, set to start shooting in mid-2025 after Hrithik wraps War 2, will leverage Yash Raj Films’ production expertise. Sources from Pinkvilla say filming will span India and international locations, promising a grander scale for the franchise’s next chapter.
