Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar Shatters Records: First Hindi Film to Surpass ₹800 Crore in India

Aditya Dhar’s espionage thriller Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh in the lead role, has achieved a groundbreaking milestone just 30 days after its theatrical debut on December 5.
Produced by Jio Studios, the film has amassed ₹806.80 crore net at the domestic box office, marking it as the first pure Hindi production to cross the ₹800 crore threshold in India. This accomplishment positions Dhurandhar ahead of previous Bollywood benchmarks and sets a new standard for Hindi cinema.
The movie’s performance remained robust throughout its run, earning ₹218 crore in the opening week, ₹261.5 crore in the second, ₹188.3 crore in the third, and ₹115.70 crore in the fourth. Recent collections included ₹9.70 crore on the fifth Saturday and ₹12.60 crore on Sunday, pushing the total past the landmark figure. Globally, Dhurandhar has grossed ₹1186.25 crore.

Jio Studios celebrated the feat, declaring it a “new all-time record for Hindi cinema.” Prior to this, no Bollywood film had reached ₹800 crore domestically. For comparison, Shah Rukh Khan’s 2023 release Jawan collected ₹640 crore in India, while Vicky Kaushal’s 2025 film Chhaava earned ₹600 crore.
The only other Indian movie to exceed this domestic mark is Allu Arjun’s 2024 Telugu blockbuster Pushpa 2: The Rule, which totaled ₹1234.1 crore net in India, including ₹812.14 crore from its Hindi-dubbed version.
Directed and co-produced by Aditya Dhar alongside Lokesh Dhar for B62 Studios and Jyoti Deshpande for Jio Studios, Dhurandhar features a strong ensemble cast including Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal. A sequel, Dhurandhar 2, is scheduled for release on March 19, 2026.
