The city-state’s second airport was hosting the biennial Dubai Air Show, an event marked this year by major aircraft orders from Emirates and its low-cost sister airline FlyDubai. Designed by the Aeronautical Development Agency and manufactured by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, the Tejas is India’s first home-grown fighter jet albeit with a foreign engine. The Indian Air Force currently operates the Mk1 variety of the Tejas fighter jet and is waiting on deliveries of the Mk1A variant.
