The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday was granted 11-day custody of gangster Anmol Bishnoi, who stands accused in the assault on Baba Siddique and as a key conspirator in the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala.
Anmol Bishnoi, a close associate and brother of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, was apprehended by NIA on Tuesday after being deported from the United States to India. Following his formal arrest, he was presented before the Patiala House Court for remand.
Bishnoi, who had been on the run since 2022, is now the nineteenth individual apprehended for his involvement in the terror syndicate led by Lawrence Bishnoi, who is currently incarcerated. The NIA had filed charges against Anmol in March 2023 after investigators established his active role in supporting designated terrorist Goldy Brar and Lawrence Bishnoi in orchestrating multiple terror activities across India between 2020 and 2023, according to an official release from the agency.
Operating in tandem with the broader Bishnoi network, Anmol allegedly managed terror syndicate operations remotely from the US, deploying network operatives for criminal acts on Indian soil.

In court, the NIA stated that Anmol Bishnoi is implicated in more than 35 murders and over 20 cases involving kidnapping, threats, and violence. He also faces accusations of possessing two Indian passports, one of which is alleged to be forged.
The investigation further revealed that Bishnoi facilitated shelter and logistical support for shooters and operatives associated with the gang. He was also reportedly involved in managing an extortion racket across India while abroad, with the assistance of fellow gang members. The NIA continues its wide-ranging probe into the terror-gangster network linked to Lawrence Bishnoi, aiming to disrupt connections between terrorists, organised crime groups, arms traffickers, and the infrastructure and funding sustaining their activities.
