India Rejects Pakistan’s Claim Linking It to Islamabad Blast, Calls Allegation a ‘Diversionary Tactic’

New Delhi: India has strongly dismissed Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s allegations linking New Delhi to the recent suicide bombing in Islamabad, calling the claim “baseless and politically motivated.” The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Tuesday said Pakistan’s accusations were a clear attempt to deflect attention from its internal crisis.

MEA spokesperson Ranadhir Jaiswal said India “unequivocally rejects the baseless and unfounded allegations being made by an obviously delirious Pakistani leadership.” In a sharply worded statement, he said Islamabad was fabricating narratives to distract its citizens from the “military-inspired constitutional subversion and power struggle” unfolding within the country.

“It is a predictable tactic by Pakistan to concoct false narratives against India,” Jaiswal said, adding that the global community is fully aware of Islamabad’s track record and will not be misled by its “desperate diversionary ploys.”

Pakistan’s Allegation Against India

The response came after Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, citing state-run Associated Press of Pakistan (APP), accused India of sponsoring terrorist proxies responsible for two separate attacks a suicide blast outside an Islamabad court that killed 12, and an attack on a cadet college in Wana near the Afghan border.

“These attacks are a continuation of India’s state-sponsored terrorism aimed at destabilising Pakistan,” Sharif claimed, without providing evidence.

The Broader Context

Sharif’s remarks follow a deadly explosion outside the Islamabad District Judicial Complex on Monday, which killed 12 and injured several others. Mere hours earlier, a terror attack was reported at a cadet college in Wana, South Waziristan. Pakistan’s leadership blamed both incidents on networks allegedly linked to New Delhi.

Ironically, the Islamabad attack coincided with a car blast near Delhi’s Red Fort, which also left 12 dead and is currently under investigation by Indian authorities. Preliminary findings suggest the Red Fort explosion was the work of Jaish-e-Mohammed, a Pakistan-based terror organisation a connection that underscores, according to officials, where the real threat emanates from.
