Ola Employee Suicide Case : CEO Bhavish Aggarwal, Senior Officials Booked For Harassment

New Delhi : A case of abetment to suicide has been registered against Ola Electric CEO Bhavish Aggarwal, senior officer Subrata Kumar Das, and the company following the alleged suicide of an employee in Bengaluru. K Aravind, a Homologation Engineer at Ola Electric, allegedly consumed poison and died on September 28.

Questioning of the company’s HR and officials reportedly yielded vague responses, raising further doubts in the family. During a search of his room, police recovered a 28-page death note in which Aravind allegedly blamed Subrata Kumar Das and CEO Bhavish Aggarwal for mental harassment, excessive work pressure, and non-payment of salary and dues, citing these as reasons for taking his life.

Prompting police to register a case under BNSS Section 108 read with 3(5) at Subramanyapura Police Station. The FIR names Subrata Kumar Das, Bhavish Aggarwal and Ola Electric Company as accused, and police investigations are currently underway. Ola Electric, through a company spokesperson, expressed deep sorrow over Aravind’s death, saying, We are deeply saddened by the unfortunate demise of our colleague, Aravind, and our thoughts remain with his family during this difficult time.

During his tenure, Aravind never raised any complaint or grievance regarding his employment or any harassment. His role also did not involve any direct interaction with the company’s top management, including the promoter. The company said it promptly facilitated the full and final settlement to his bank account to provide immediate support to the family.
