Dhanashree Verma Breaks Down Over Aahana Kumra’s Alleged Personal Jabs, Citing Deep Betrayal and Insecurity

New Delhi: In a raw display of vulnerability on the reality competition Rise and Fall, actress and dancer Dhanashree Verma confronted the sting of betrayal after learning that fellow contestant Aahana Kumra had reportedly cast doubts on her integrity behind her back. The confrontation, which unfolded during an intense eviction segment, saw Verma in tears as she expressed profound disappointment and a newfound sense of unease among her peers.

The drama ignited when contestant Akriti Negi disclosed to the group that Kumra, while secluded in the show’s penthouse, had made pointed comments implying Verma relied excessively on male alliances for support. Deeply wounded by the accusation which echoed sensitivities tied to her high-profile personal life Verma opted to cast her eviction vote against Kumra, explaining it stemmed from shattered confidence rather than spite.

Addressing the group with visible emotion, Verma reflected on the sequence of events. “I am actually coming from a space of disappointment,” she stated on the program. She recounted how, upon discovering Kumra’s remarks, she had been moved to tears, yet still rallied to defend her when tensions peaked earlier. “I had very clearly told her that there are some reasons why people don’t talk to her,” Verma added. “I even told her I was deeply hurt by her words, but now I don’t know what she is talking about me in the basement, but I have felt bad. I have never said anything against anyone on the show, yet I never dragged my personal life on the show. I am told I am getting influenced, but that’s not true; I don’t like this environment. I have seen life, and I know I cannot trust Aahana anymore.”

Back in the penthouse, Verma’s distress deepened as she shared her fears with the others. “I feel unsafe to talk to anybody now,” she confided. “People are crossing their limits now.” Her fellow housemates offered solace as she wept openly, underscoring the fragile dynamics within the high-stakes setup.

The episode wasn’t isolated; broader frictions simmered elsewhere. Actor Arjun Bijlani erupted in anger when Negi pulled his wife into a heated exchange, calling for her immediate removal from the competition though cooler heads prevailed and de-escalated the standoff. Adding to the turnover, singer Pawan Singh bowed out voluntarily to honor prior professional obligations.

Verma’s journey on Rise and Fall has been shadowed by public scrutiny of her private world, including her marriage to cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal. The pair met virtually through her dance tutorials amid the 2020 COVID-19 restrictions, wed soon after, and parted ways amid a widely covered split finalized in 2025. Verma has largely refrained from public commentary on the matter, emphasizing her intent to keep past chapters from eclipsing her current pursuits. Yet Kumra’s alleged asides have evidently pierced that resolve, forcing a reckoning with trust in the unforgiving glare of reality television.
