Uttarakhand : BJP MP Anil Baluni Narrowly Escapes Landslide On Badrinath Highway, Watch Video

Dehradun : Uttarakhand BJP MP Anil Baluni on Thursday shared a video on social media where he is seen narrowly escaping a massive landslide while visiting an area in the hill state affected by the ongoing torrential rain. The chilling video shows the Rajya Sabha MP standing on a stretch of a road as a hillside collapses. In his post, Baluni said the chilling video reflects the scale of Uttarakhand’s disaster.

The heavy rainfall and landslides in Uttarakhand this year have left deep wounds that will take a long time to heal. I am sharing a horrific scene of a landslide in the disaster-affected area from last evening,” he said. “I pray to Baba Kedarnath for everyone’s safety, good health, and prosperity. In this hour of disaster, I commend the service of the NDRF and SDRF personnel, administration, and workers who are engaged in serving the people even in difficult circumstances,” the Rajya Sabha MP added.

At least 15 people have died this week in the rain-triggered incidents, including 13 alone in the Dehradun cloudburst. On Wednesday night, at least 10 people were missing in Chamoli after a rain-triggered cloudburst struck the district. The heavy debris flow reduced six buildings to rubble. The state government has issued a red alert for Dehradun, Champawat, and Udham Singh Nagar, warning of extremely heavy rain and the risk of further fatalities, landslides, and infrastructure collapse through September 20.
