Delhi High Court Asks Priya Kapur For Sunjay Kapur Assets Details

New Delhi : The legal battle over the massive estate of the late industrialist Sunjay Kapur has taken a new turn. Today Delhi High Court has asked Priya Sachdev Kapur to submit a detailed list of all movable and immovable assets belonging to the late Sunjay Kapur.

It is to be noted that the children of Karisma Kapoor have filed a suit seeking their share in Sunjay Kapur’s wealth. During the hearing, Priya Kapur’s counsel revealed that assets worth Rs 1,900 crore were transferred to Karisma Kapoor’s children just six days before the filing of the suit.

The children’s counsel argued that they were informed they were not beneficiaries under the will. The high court ordered that the will must be produced in a sealed cover, ensuring confidentiality while the court reviews its contents.

The bench suggested the formation of a “confidentiality club” where both parties could nominate lawyers to inspect the will. “I don’t know why you should not part with a copy of the will with the children. A confidentiality agreement can be signed,” the court said.

The dispute intensified as Rani Kapur, another family member, accused Priya Kapur of keeping the entire estate for herself. “My property, my estate I have nothing today. Not once has any document been shared with me. Rs 10,000 crore worth of assets should have been mine. I don’t know how long I have, but I am concerned about my grandchildren.

Priya said, There was litigation after litigation, which reached the Supreme Court I am his widow. The court is not considering the case of a person standing on the road. They have received Rs 1,900 crore,” the counsel argued. The Delhi High Court has taken a strict view of the matter and will not prevent either party from acting at this stage. The court has ordered that the plaintiffs’ complaint be registered as a formal suit. Both parties must file their written statements in two weeks.
