Former Scotland cricketer Duncan Pauline’s wife passes away suddenly in supermarket

London: A personal tragedy struck former Scotland all-rounder Duncan Pauline this week when his wife Wiyada, originally from Thailand, suddenly collapsed while shopping at a supermarket in Surrey, England. Despite immediate medical attention, she was declared dead.

Reports suggest that Wiyada suffered a sudden heart attack. Mall staff quickly called emergency services, and the supermarket was closed for a few hours. However, all efforts to revive her failed.

Duncan Pauline said:

“At around 5:15 p.m., I got a call from a friend and rushed to the mall. At first, I thought Wiyada had fallen and perhaps injured her head, which made her unconscious. But in reality, she had suffered a heart attack. When I arrived, the police told me that my wife had passed away.”

The couple had recently bought a house in Thailand and were planning to settle there soon after retirement.

Police confirmed that there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding Wiyada’s death, and it has been recorded as a natural death.

Duncan Pauline had played county cricket for Surrey during the 1980s for seven years.
