India Reigns At The Oval, Britain Stunned In Broad Daylight

Team India wins a nail-biter by 6 runs: Siraj’s five-wicket fury, Krishna grabs four

London – In a thrilling finale to the England series, India clinched a historic and unforgettable victory in the last Test at The Oval, leveling the five-match series 2-2. Even after the English batters came within touching distance of victory, the Indian bowlers snatched the win right from under their noses. As a result, the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy will be shared by both sides.

Chasing a stiff target of 374 runs, England fell short by just 6 runs, handing India a dramatic victory at The Oval — one of the narrowest margins in Test history. This gripping Test was not just a win for India, but a triumph for Test cricket itself.

Mohammed Siraj emerged as the ultimate hero of the match. Despite a serious shoulder injury, Chris Woakes walked out to bat with a cast on his arm as England’s last batter. However, Gus Atkinson was clean bowled by Siraj, sealing a memorable win for India.

Woakes, clearly not in batting condition due to his plastered arm, tried to hold one end and support Atkinson briefly. His brave effort evoked memories of Anil Kumble bowling with a bandaged jaw and Rishabh Pant batting recently with strapped legs despite a severe injury.

England, in pursuit of 374, were eventually bowled out for 367, handing India a thrilling six-run victory. Siraj picked up 5 wickets, Prasidh Krishna claimed 4, and Akash Deep took 1, dismissing Harry Brook, who had scored a valiant 111. Brook’s century, along with Joe Root’s 105, ultimately went in vain.
