Katy Perry Dines with Justin Trudeau in Montreal

Pop star Katy Perry and former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau were recently seen dining together in Montreal, fueling speculation about their relationship. The unexpected pairing was spotted on July 28, 2025, at Le Violon, an upscale restaurant in Montreal’s Le Plateau neighborhood, as reported by People. This sighting comes shortly after Perry’s confirmed split from actor Orlando Bloom.
According to TMZ, which obtained images of the duo, Perry, 40, and Trudeau, 53, enjoyed a meal featuring lobster and cocktails. They engaged in conversation, with Perry appearing attentive and animated. The pair also met with chef Danny Smiles during their visit and later thanked the kitchen staff personally. Neither Perry’s nor Trudeau’s representatives have commented on the nature of their meeting.
The dinner follows significant personal changes for both. Earlier this month, Perry and Bloom, 48, announced their separation after nearly a decade together. The couple, who met at a 2016 Golden Globes afterparty, got engaged in 2019 and welcomed their daughter, Daisy Dove, in 2020. Trudeau, meanwhile, parted ways with his wife, Sophie Gregoire, in August 2023 after 18 years of marriage. In a social media statement, Trudeau noted that the decision came after “many meaningful and difficult conversations,” emphasizing that he and Gregoire remain a close family with their three children, Xavier, 17, Ella-Grace, 16, and Hadrien, 11.
Perry is currently on the Canadian leg of her Lifetimes Tour, with performances scheduled in Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec City, and Toronto.
