
In a significant breakthrough, the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has apprehended the mastermind behind an Al-Qaeda terror module. The arrest follows the earlier detention of four individuals linked to Al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS), who were nabbed in a coordinated operation across Gujarat, Noida, and Delhi.
The Gujarat ATS uncovered a sophisticated social media network used by the suspects to propagate extremist ideologies. The agency had been monitoring the group for an extended period, leading to the exposure of a counterfeit Indian currency racket alongside their terror activities. The four initial suspects were found to be using social media platforms and certain applications to disseminate Al-Qaeda’s ideology, according to sources .
