Shillong Court Grants Bail to Two in Raja Raghuvanshi Murder Case

In a significant development in the Raja Raghuvanshi murder case, a Shillong court has granted bail to two co-accused individuals, Lokendra Singh Tomar and Balbir Ahirwar. The duo was arrested earlier for their alleged involvement in the high-profile case, which has captured widespread public attention due to its intricate details and multiple suspects. The court imposed strict conditions on their release, though the specific terms remain undisclosed.

According to sources, the defense successfully argued that Tomar and Ahirwar cooperated fully with investigators and were not directly linked to the killing itself. This argument reportedly influenced the court’s decision to grant bail. The murder of Raja Raghuvanshi, an Indore-based businessman, has sent shockwaves through the region, prompting calls for swift justice and a thorough investigation.

Raghuvanshi and his wife, Sonam, married on May 10 in Indore and traveled to Shillong for their honeymoon shortly after. On May 21, they rented a scooter to explore the scenic Sohra region but vanished the following day. On June 2, authorities discovered Raja’s decomposed body in a gorge near Cherrapunji, bearing multiple sharp injuries and two fatal head wounds.

While the primary accused remains in custody, the release of Tomar and Ahirwar has raised questions about its potential impact on the ongoing investigation’s trajectory and pace. The case continues to unfold, with authorities under pressure to deliver justice in this widely followed tragedy.
