New Office Expected To Handle More Than 800 Applications On A Daily Basis

The passport office, which was hitherto located in the Mithakhali area, has now been shifted to the Bapunagar area. The office started operating from Monday (July 7). Before the official launch of the office, a trial run was also conducted with applicants on Sunday. Launch of the new office is expected to make the process faster and more convenient for the applicants.
Apparently, the Mithakhali office reportedly faced issues of inconvenience. Hence, to ensure smooth functioning, and to meet the necessary requirements of the applicants, it was announced that the office would be shifted to Bapunagar.
As per officials, with the opening of the new Passport Seva Kendra, 600 people were given passport appointments on the first day itself. The new office, with an upgraded infrastructure, is well equipped with required modern technology, and is capable of serving applicants from across the state.
The new office will be Gujarat’s largest passport office. It has a total of 36 counts in 3 wings. Services including online appointment, fingerprint, and document verification are available, which will save the time of the applicants. In addition, facilities like seating area and drinking water have also been provided.
It is expected that the new office will attend to more than 800 passport applications on a daily basis in the coming days. The decision to shift the passport office to Bapunagar is aimed at reducing the burden of the office and improving the quality of services, making the process easier.
