Gujarat Braces for 6 Days of Heavy Rainfall as IMD Issues Yellow-Orange Alerts Across 10+ Districts

Ahmedabad: Multiple areas across Saurashtra and South Gujarat experienced heavy to very heavy rainfall today (July 2), with precipitation recorded in 101 talukas over the past 12 hours. The highest rainfall of 3.54 inches was recorded in Subir, Dang district. The meteorological department has now issued alerts for heavy to very heavy rainfall across more than 10 districts through July 8. Here’s what to expect over the next six days regarding weather conditions across different regions.

Six-Day Heavy Rainfall Forecast

According to meteorological department predictions, tomorrow Thursday (July 3) will see orange alerts issued for very heavy rainfall in Banaskantha and Sabarkantha districts. Yellow alerts for heavy rainfall have been declared for Kutch, Patan, Mehsana, Gandhinagar, Mahisagar, Aravalli, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Surat, Tapi, Dang, Navsari, and Valsad districts.

July 4-5 Forecast

On July 4-5, heavy to very heavy rainfall with thunderstorms is predicted across Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Mahisagar, Dahod, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Gir Somnath, Navsari, Dang, Valsad, Tapi, Chhota Udaipur, Panchmahal, Banaskantha, and Mehsana districts.

July 6 Forecast

July 6 is expected to bring heavy to very heavy rainfall across more than 20 districts. Orange alerts have been issued for Navsari, Valsad, Sabarkantha, and Aravalli districts. The weather department has declared yellow alerts for Banaskantha, Patan, Mehsana, Gandhinagar, Kheda, Ahmedabad, Surendranagar, Botad, Bhavnagar, Amreli, Gir Somnath, Anand, Mahisagar, Dahod, Panchmahal, Vadodara, Narmada, Chhota Udaipur, Bharuch, Surat, Tapi, and Dang districts.

July 7-8 Forecast

For July 7-8, heavy to very heavy rainfall is predicted across Aravalli, Mahisagar, Dahod, Panchmahal, Vadodara, Chhota Udaipur, Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Tapi, Dang, Navsari, Valsad, Amreli, Bhavnagar, and Gir Somnath districts.

The extended forecast indicates sustained monsoon activity across Gujarat, with particular intensity expected in the central and southern regions of the state. Residents in affected areas are advised to stay updated with weather bulletins and take necessary precautions during this period of enhanced rainfall activity.
