Mumbai Teacher Arrested for Year-Long Sexual Assault of Student in Luxury Hotels

A teacher from one of India’s top five schools in Mumbai faces arrest for the alleged repeated rape of a male student over a year. The Dadar police have taken her into custody under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and Juvenile Justice Act for aggravated sexual assault.
According to allegations, the assaults occurred at multiple locations, including five-star hotels. The teacher is also accused of administering antidepressants to the survivor.
A First Information Report (FIR) additionally names the teacher’s friend as a co-accused. Police state this friend allegedly convinced the minor in 2024 to maintain a sexual relationship with the teacher. Reportedly, the friend, who remains at large, falsely told the minor that such relationships between older women and teenagers were normal.
Police confirm the co-accused friend was not affiliated with the survivor’s school but met the minor separately to facilitate the relationship with the teacher. Authorities are actively searching for the co-accused.
This arrest coincides with heightened concerns over student safety following a separate, high-profile incident. A first-year student was allegedly gang-raped in the guard’s room of a Kolkata law college. This case has drawn renewed attention to campus security.
Subsequent to the Kolkata incident, multiple allegations of molestation and sexual harassment surfaced against Monojit Mishra, the main accused and a former Trinamool Congress student leader. These alleged incidents reportedly occurred on the college campus and during official trips.
Speaking exclusively to India Today TV, the student involved accused Mishra of assault and threats during a college trip. She further claimed approximately 15 female students were victims of his alleged “perversion”.
