
Air India has commenced distributing interim compensation of ₹25 lakh to the families of those killed or injured in the tragic June 12, 2025, plane crash in Ahmedabad, according to a statement released by the airline on Saturday. So far, three families have received the payments, with additional claims being processed. This financial aid supplements the ₹1 crore (approximately GBP 85,000) previously pledged by Tata Sons, Air India’s parent company.

The airline is also reaching out to individuals injured on the ground and the families of those who lost their lives in the incident to facilitate their compensation claims. To support affected families, Air India has established a centralized helpdesk, operational since June 15, to streamline documentation and expedite the compensation process. Additionally, the airline has deployed a team of trained psychologists and doctors in Ahmedabad to provide trauma counseling and psychological support. A separate medical team, including nurses and a pharmacist, is addressing ongoing health needs of those impacted.
