Bijapur: Security forces in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district conducted a significant anti-Maoist operation during the first two weeks of June 2025, resulting in the deaths of seven Maoists, including two prominent leaders of the banned Communist Party of India (Maoist). The operation, which unfolded in the National Park area, involved intense clashes between security personnel and Maoist insurgents, police reported on Saturday.

The deceased included Gautam, also known as Sudhakar, a Central Committee member, and Bhaskar Rao, a State Committee member of the CPI (Maoist), according to an official statement. The operation, described as a major setback for the Maoist organization, also led to the recovery of the body of Mahesh Kodiyam, a resident of Irpagutta village under Farsegarh Police Station’s jurisdiction in Bijapur district.
