Mumbai: Air India flight AI2491, scheduled to travel from Mumbai to Lucknow on June 17, was canceled due to operational challenges stemming from heavy rainfall in Delhi, according to a statement from the airline. The decision was influenced by a series of flight diversions caused by the adverse weather, which led to significant delays.
The cascading effect of these diversions meant that the operating crew for flight AI2491 reached their regulatory flight duty time limits, as reported by Free Press Journal. The delayed arrival of rerouted flights made it impossible for Air India to arrange a replacement crew promptly, necessitating the cancellation.
