US President Donald Trump Says He Had Prior Information Regarding Israel’s Strikes

New Delhi : US President Donald Trump, in an interview with Fox News said that he had prior information regarding Israel’s strikes on Iran that killed several people. Trump also said that he hopes that Iran will return to the negotiating table.

According to media report, the Trump administration reached out to at least one key Middle Eastern ally to acknowledge that the strike was going to happen, but that the US was not involved in the strikes.

He also warned Iran that US makes the most lethal weapons in the world and Israel has a lot of them and they also know how to use them. “I gave Iran chance after chance to make a deal. I told them, in the strongest of words, to “just do it,” but no matter how hard they tried, no matter how close they got, they just couldn’t get it done,” said Trump.

“Certain Iranian hardliner’s spoke bravely, but they didn’t know what was about to happen. They are all DEAD now, and it will only get worse,” he added. Iran has vowed retaliation against the strikes. An Iranian security source told news agency Reuters that Tehran is planning to give a response to Israel that will be “harsh and decisive”. The official added that retaliation is being discussed at the highest levels.

The country has called the strikes by Israel a ‘declaration of war’. Trump in the interview also said that he is watching for any retaliation, and US Central Command (CENTCOM) is on high alert. He also said that the US is ready to defend itself and Israel in case of any retaliation from Iran.
