The number of road accidents is surging in the state. On a daily basis, incidents of road accidents, collisions, and on the spot deaths are frequently appearing in the news. Recently, two such incidents have occurred in separate places.
An accident took place between a truck and a bike on Surendranagar-Dhrangadhra highway, in which 3 people lost their lives. On the other hand, in a hit and run case in Rajkot, an old man died.
On the Surendranagar-Dhrangadhra highway, a truck and a bike collided with each other, which resulted in on the spot deaths of the three people who were on the bike. Local people gathered at the scene. The police were also informed, who reached the spot and sent the bodies for post-mortem. As per sources, the truck driver has been caught and a case has been registered against him. Further investigations are going on.
In a separate incident in Rajkot, an old man became victim of hit and run. The accident took place near Limda Chowk. The old man, identified as Mithabhai Dhandhukiya, was hit by a car due to which he died on the spot. The car driver fled from the scene. The police have initiated investigations to nab the car driver.
Such incidents raise concerns about road safety. Road accidents are increasing in the state day by day. Same is the case of hit and run incidents. Innocent people lose lives due to drivers’ carelessness. This sparks concerns about the driving ability and awareness of the drivers. In such cases, people in the surroundings are also at danger, as they are dragged into the accident without any involvement.
