A strange turn of events has taken place in Surat, in which initially, an ‘Operation Sindoor’ themed circle was established on the Pal-Hajira road on May 31; after 6 days, on June 6, the circle has disappeared. Apparently, the circle was illegally built and thus, has been broken down.
The ‘Operation Sindoor’ themed circle was built near Pal Haveli in the Pal area by an organization named Yashvi Foundation. The structure, which also included a fighter plane, had been placed on the middle of the road. However, the structure had been built without the permission of the Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC).

The circle had sparked discussions, and had become viral on social media. Yashvi Foundation was issued a written notice by the Rander Zone; despite this, no action was taken by the Foundation. Following which, the municipality administration adopted a stricter stance. After the Mayor’s instructions, the administration had warned that if the circle was not removed, then it would be demolished. Municipality officers said that the structure was illegal and acted as an obstruction to the traffic.

On the other hand, Satendra Nayak of Yashvi Foundation informed that on May 26 and 27, they had applied for permission to the police and Surat Municipal Corporation. At that time, the Tiranga Yatra was also going on. Since they did not get the permission, they built a temporary structure with good intentions, he added. They received a notice only once, after which they removed the temporary structure.

Meanwhile, an officer of the Rander Zone shared that they had issued a notice mentioning that if the structure was not removed then they would take necessary actions. But since the structure has been removed now, there is no need for any further action.
SM Shaikh, ACP of the Traffic Department, stated that the traffic department will not take any legal action as of now as the SMC has already issued a notice. In future, if the issue is raised and SMC asks for an opinion, we would give our opinion then.
