COVID-19 Cases in India Reach 3,395 with Four Deaths in a Day

India is seeing a rise in COVID-19 cases, with 3,395 active cases reported as of June 1, 2025, according to the Ministry of Health. Kerala has the highest number at 1,336, followed by Maharashtra and Delhi. Four people passed away due to COVID-19-related complications in the last 24 hours in Delhi, Kerala, Karnataka, and Uttar Pradesh. Meanwhile, 1,435 patients were discharged from hospitals, showing many are recovering.


Regional Updates
Maharashtra reported 68 new cases, with 30 in Mumbai and 15 in Pune. The state has 467 active cases. In Delhi, a 60-year-old woman died, but her death was mainly due to an intestinal issue, with COVID-19 found incidentally. Karnataka reported a death of a 63-year-old man with serious health conditions, marking its fourth fatality in this surge. Odisha added two new cases, bringing its total to seven, with all patients stable.


Health Measures and Advice
Most cases are mild, and patients are recovering at home. Health officials say there’s no need to panic, as hospitals and testing facilities are well-prepared. Karnataka’s health department has advised schools to take precautions like mask-wearing as they reopen in June. The public is urged to wear masks in crowded places, keep distance, and maintain hygiene to prevent further spread.
