Government Employee Detained For Spying For Pakistan ISI, Multiple Pakistani Numbers Found On Phone

Jaipur: A government employee and former personal assistant to a senior Congress leader was detained on Wednesday for allegedly spying for Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). The Rajasthan CID and other intelligence special teams from Jaipur detained the individual, Sakur Khan Mangaliya, from a government department office in Jaisalmer.

Khan is a resident of Jaisalmer district, and is currently employed in the state’s employment office. Shakoor Khan was on duty in the district administration control room of the during Operation Sindoor. Officials suspect Khan of being involved in suspicious activities. Intelligence agencies had been monitoring him for some time after receiving input about his alleged connections with a Pakistani Embassy official and possible links with the ISI.

“Based on inputs from higher headquarters about his involvement in suspicious activities, we have detained him for verification and questioning,” said Sudhir Chaudhary, Superintendent of Police, confirming the detention. Sources said the intelligence team has found multiple unknown Pakistani numbers on Khan’s mobile phone. He has reportedly failed to explain the presence of these numbers. During questioning, Khan also admitted to visiting Pakistan 6–7 times in the past.

According to officials, no military-related videos or sensitive content have been found on his mobile phone so far. However, many posts on the device were found deleted. His financial records, including two bank accounts, are also being examined by intelligence agencies. There was surveillance on his movements for some time.
