Another Mass Shooting in US, at least 11 Hurt in South Carolina Beach Town

Eleven individuals required hospitalization after a shooting incident Sunday evening in Little River, a coastal community in South Carolina, according to local law enforcement officials.

The Horry County Police Department reported the shooting took place at approximately 9:30 p.m., though officials have not disclosed information regarding the severity of injuries sustained by the victims.

Emergency responders, including numerous police vehicles and ambulances, were observed moving rapidly through a primarily residential area near the Intracoastal Waterway in Little River, located roughly 20 miles northeast of Myrtle Beach.

According to the Horry County Police, investigators are continuing to receive information about additional victims who transported themselves to medical facilities using personal vehicles. Law enforcement has not yet provided information concerning potential suspects or what may have motivated the attack.

The location of the incident is predominantly residential, though it also houses several marine-related businesses, as reported by the Associated Press.

This shooting follows another violent incident that occurred approximately one month prior in nearby Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, during April. In that earlier incident, one person lost their life and eleven others sustained injuries in a mass shooting within a busy tourist district.

During the April incident, authorities had been monitoring a disturbance involving several people on North Ocean Boulevard when an individual discharged a firearm. A law enforcement officer responded by shooting one person, who subsequently died from their wounds, police confirmed.
