BSF Neutralizes Pakistani Intruder at Gujarat Border

In a late-night operation on May 23, 2025, Border Security Force (BSF) personnel shot and killed a Pakistani intruder attempting to cross into Indian territory in Gujarat’s Banaskantha district. The incident occurred near the International Border when BSF troops observed a suspicious individual approaching the border fence after crossing from Pakistan.

The BSF personnel, maintaining heightened vigilance due to recent tensions between India and Pakistan, challenged the intruder. When the individual failed to comply and continued advancing, the troops opened fire, neutralizing the threat. The identity of the intruder remains undisclosed, and no further details about the individual were provided by authorities.

This incident follows a period of escalated conflict between the two nations, triggered by India’s Operation Sindoor, which targeted terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir on May 7, 2025. The operation prompted retaliatory actions from Pakistan, including drone incursions and shelling along the Line of Control. Border regions, including Gujarat, Punjab, and Rajasthan, have been on high alert since the operation, with security forces intensifying surveillance to prevent unauthorized crossings.
