Security Forces Engage Terrorists in Intense Kishtwar Gunbattle

An intense gunfight broke out early Thursday morning in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district, specifically in the Singhpora area of Chatroo, according to the Jammu and Kashmir Police. The clash began when a joint team comprising the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) initiated a cordon-and-search operation based on specific intelligence inputs.

The operation, dubbed Op Trashi, has cornered three to four terrorists, believed to be members of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM). Republic World noted that security forces, with assistance from Village Defence Group (VDG) members, have sealed all entry and exit points to contain the threat. Sources suggest these terrorists may be part of a group that escaped a previous encounter in the same area.

As of now, no casualties have been reported, and the operation continues as security forces aim to neutralize the trapped terrorists, per the Jammu and Kashmir Police. This incident comes in the wake of recent anti-terror efforts in the region, including the elimination of three JeM terrorists in Pulwama, as reported by SwarajyaMag.
